Our medical team

Prof. Dr. Sven Perner

Prof. Dr. Sven Perner is a specialist in pathology and, since 2024, managing director of the MVZ Center for Outpatient Oncology in Tübingen. After studying medicine in Ulm, he received his license to practice medicine in 1999 and completed his doctorate with magna cum laude at the University of Ulm in January 2003. He completed his habilitation with a focus on “Recurrent gene fusions in prostate cancer” at the Medical Faculty of the Eberhard Karls University of Tübingen in December 2009.

He expanded his professional expertise through various further training courses and certificates, including recognition as an expert assessor for the DEKRA pathology department and various training courses in business administration. He is active in research and knowledge transfer with almost 300 publications, 38 book chapters and publications, around 150 lectures, and over four million euros in third-party funding. His focus is on translational tumor research / molecular pathogenesis and the functional genetics of solid tumors. He has also supervised eight habilitations, 28 doctorates, and received various scientific awards.

His professional career has taken him through renowned academic and medical institutions. After research stays at Harvard Medical School and Weill Cornell Medical Center, he returned to Germany in 2008 as an assistant physician and head of the Emmy Noether Group at Tübingen University Hospital. From 2010 to 2015, he was University Professor (W2) of the Rudolf Becker Foundation at the Institute of Pathology at the University Hospital Bonn and Head of the Section for Prostate Cancer Research. After several years as a managing senior physician at the Institute of Pathology at the University Hospital Bonn, he became a university professor (W3 in a management position) and director of pathology at the University Hospital Schleswig-Holstein and the Research Center Borstel, Leibniz Lung Center before moving to the MVZ Center for Outpatient Oncology Tübingen in 2024.

Dr. med. Alexander Golf

Dr. med. Alexander Golf

Alexander Golf is a specialist in internal medicine with additional qualifications in hematology and internal oncology, gastroenterology, palliative medicine and emergency medicine.

After studying human medicine at the LMU Munich and the New York University in NYC, USA, he received his MD degree from LMU Munich. After a broad training in internal medicine at the Katharinenhospital in Stuttgart, he joined the leukemia and lymphoma ward of the Medical Clinic in Munich as a research assistant.

After being board certified in emergency medicine and internal medicine, he returned to the Katharinenhospital in Stuttgart in 2004 as a specialist in hematology and oncology and in 2005 as medical director. There he established the palliative medicine consultation service and headed the “Geriatric Hematology and Oncology” team.

From 2005, he began building the Department of Hematology and Oncology at the Klinikum Nürtingen and was deputy head of the Colorectal Cancer Center, the Oncology Center and the medius Tumor Center of the ‘Kliniken im Landkreis Esslingen’. From 2015 to 2020, he was also deputy head of the Oncology Center.

From 2020 to 2022, he was head of the Department of Medical Oncology at the University Hospital of Tübingen (UKT), served as senior physician in the Department of Internal Medicine VIII (Medical Oncology and Pneumology) and spokesman of the Center for Soft Tissue Tumors and Bone Tumors and GIST as well as the Interdisciplinary Oncological Tumor Conference (IOK) of the CCC Stuttgart-Tübingen.

Thomas Okech

Thomas Okech graduated in philosophy and catholic theology in Kenya. In 1994, he began his medical studies in Heidelberg, which he continued in Tübingen, where he received his medical degree in 2003. He then completed his residency in the Department of Internal Medicine I, Gastroenterology and Interdisciplinary Emergency Medicine at the University Hospital of Tübingen.

In 2005, he began his residency in Hematology and Oncology at the Klinikum Stuttgart and continued his training in the Department of Internal Medicine I at the Katharinen- und Bürgerhospital.

From January 2013, he expanded his focus on complementary medicine as a senior physician at Klinikum Öschelbronn. He then worked as an employed specialist at the Onkologikum Stuttgart an der Liederhalle.

From May 2014 to August 2014, Thomas Okech was a senior physician at the Clinic for Pneumology, Respiratory Medicine and General Internal Medicine at the RKK-Stuttgart.

Since September 2014, he has been a senior physician in the Department of Hematology and Oncology of Internal Medicine I at the Siloah St. Trudpert Klinikum in Pforzheim.

Since 2018, he has been working half-time as a specialist in hematology/oncology in a joint practice with Dr. Michael Haen in Tübingen. After moving to new premises, Dr. Haen’s retirement was followed by the establishment of a joint practice with Dr. Alexander Golf.

Sylke Busch

Sylke Busch

Sylke Busch is a specialist in internal medicine and palliative medicine.

After training as a nurse, Sylke Busch studied human medicine in Marburg/Lahn and Tübingen. During her studies, she worked as a research assistant at the Institute of Human Genetics at the Philipps University in Marburg. During her residency, she worked in the fields of psychosomatics, hemato-oncology and endocrinology and completed her residency in internal medicine at the Klinikum Stuttgart in 2012. There she worked in the Department of Hemato-Oncology until 2020. After qualifying as a palliative physician in 2014, she became a functional senior physician and was entrusted with the medical treatment management and further development of the palliative consultation service. In 2019 she underwent further training as a psycho-oncologist (WPO) and in 2020 she moved to the University Hospital of Tübingen as a palliative physician in the palliative care unit of the Department of Radiation Oncology.

Dr. med. Anja Albers

Anja Albers is a specialist in internal medicine, hematology and internal oncology with additional qualifications in palliative medicine, emergency medicine, nutritional medicine and acupuncture.

After studying human medicine at the University of Lübeck, she qualified as a physician in 2006 and received her doctorate a year later. She began her training in internal medicine in Siegen and then moved to Stuttgart, where she completed her residency in internal medicine at the Klinikum Stuttgart (Katharinen- und Bürgerhospital).

Ms. Albers completed her training as a hematologist and oncologist at the Klinikum Stuttgart and then at the ‘Onkologikum Stuttgart an der Liederhalle’. In 2014, she moved to the Filderklinik, where she completed her residency in Hematology and Oncology. Since 2016, Ms. Albers has been working as a senior physician in the Center for Integrative Oncology.

Since October 2022 Ms. Albers supports our team in the Center for Outpatient Oncology (MVZ – Zentrum für ambulante Onkologie GmbH).

Dr. med. Veit Scheble

Dr. med. Veit Scheble

Veit Scheble is a specialist in internal medicine and gastroenterology with a focus on gastrointestinal oncology.

After studying human medicine at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena, he worked for two years as a research assistant (*) at the Institute of Pathology at the University Hospital of Tübingen in the research group of Prof. Sven Perner and received his MD degree for his work on prostate cancer. He then switched to clinical medicine, initially to the Department of Hematology and Oncology and, after two more years, to the Department of Gastroenterology at the the University Hospital of Tübingen.

After qualifying as a specialist in internal medicine and gastroenterology, he was, on a rotating basis, in senior charge of the hepatology ward, the gastroenterology ward and the infectious diseases ward, and was permanently responsible for the gastroenterology and oncology day clinic. At the same time, he was medical coordinator and senior internist at the Center for Gastrointestinal Oncology at the Comprehensive Cancer Center Tübingen-Stuttgart.

From 2020, in addition, he served as organ expert and deputy head of the Molecular Tumor Board for gastrointestinal tumors.

Veit Scheble has been part of the team at the Center for Outpatient Oncology Tübingen since October 2023.

Dr. med. Dr. rer. nat. Saskia Biskup

Saskia Biskup is a specialist in human genetics with her own Zentrum für Humangenetik and managing director of CeGaT GmbH in Tübingen.

She studied human medicine at the University of Würzburg where she received her MD. Subsequently, she was accepted into the MD/PhD program at the University of Würzburg and was appointed to the Faculty of Biology (Department of Genetics), where she received her Dr. rer. nat. degree.

Saskia Biskup started her residency in human genetics in Munich (Prof. Meitinger) in 2002, continued it in Tübingen after a research stay of almost three years in Baltimore/USA (Johns Hopkins University) and successfully finished it at the end of 2009.

In 2009, together with her husband, she founded CeGaT GmbH, now a leading global provider of genetic analyses for a wide variety of requests from medical practice, research and the pharmaceutical industry.

In 2010 she founded the Practice for Human Genetics Tübingen, now the Center for Human Genetics.

From April 2012 to the end of 2014, Saskia Biskup was responsible for the Institute of Clinical Genetics at the Olgahospital (Klinikum Stuttgart) as part-time medical director.

Since 2015, her focus has been 100% on her work in Tübingen. Her main concern is to make state-of-the-art diagnostics available to patients. In tomorrow’s precision medicine, diagnostics are the basis for individualized and purposeful therapy. Human genetics plays a central role.
